                                                 Friday 3rd May

This week, we observed the growth of our beans and completed our first diary entries. We were delighted to see some shoots appearing and look forward to seeing their progress after the weekend. Some have shot up so much that we will be able to use our rulers to measure their heights!

Little Red Riding Hood continued her journey, through the forest, and took a basket of goodies with her, for Grandma. The children continued creating their sentences for this plot point in the story.

As mentioned, SWACA spent time with us and we had the opportunity to think about the different healthy relationships we have.

Next week, we commence our Birds art unit. Once again, close observations are in order and we will use a variety of mediums to record all we see.

Have a lovely weekend and bank holiday. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
