What a fantastic week we’ve had in Reception!

It's hard to believe that we're approaching our final week! Time has flown by so quickly, and we're amazed at how much our little ones have grown and learned throughout the year.

Tuesday brought another exciting morning spent in our new Year One classrooms. The children are growing more confident with each visit, getting a taste of what's to come in September. It's amazing to see how much independence they have gained since the start of the year. We can't wait to see them shine in Year One!

We wore our speedy shoes on Wednesday as Reception took part in their very first Sports Day. The big walk to Range High School wasn’t enough to tire out our little legs! It was a wonderful way to warm up as our budding athletes raced as fast as they could through the sprint, relay and obstacle races. Reception were so proud of themselves, and were fantastic spectators as they clapped and cheered each other on. Well done Reception! 🏆

We also had a special visit to Year Four on Thursday. Reception loved being with their buddies as they shared their recent work on the digestive system. Through colourful booklets and diagrams, we learned about how our bodies process food. The children were particularly amused by the 'tennis ball in a sock’ activity!

To end another brilliant week, Friday was our much-anticipated 'Break the Rules Day'. The children arrived in their own clothes, bubbling with excitement. The highlight was definitely playing in the big playground with the whole school - a true celebration of our school community.

This week, you will have received your child's end-of-year report. We hope you've had a chance to read through it and celebrate your little one's achievements. The reports reflect the incredible progress each child has made during their time in Reception.

Important Reminders:

Tuesday, 16th July - Golden Ticket Water Play Celebration and Reception Mufti

On Tuesday, Reception will be wearing Mufti clothes to celebrate our 30 Golden Tickets achievement, by taking part in a water play afternoon. Please remember to send your child to school with a spare change of clothes. It's sure to be a highlight of our final week and a wonderful memory of our time in Reception. Let's hope for some lovely weather!

Thursday, 18th July - Early Finish at 2pm

On our last day together, all classes finish at 2pm. This is different from our usual end time on a Thursday, so please make sure you've made arrangements for the earlier pick-up.

Have a wonderful weekend. The Reception Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
