Reception Weekly Blog (20.12.24)

Date: 19th Dec 2024 @ 1:49pm

Happy Christmas, everyone!

Can you believe our littlest of learners have finished one whole term at primary school? We are incredibly proud of them and can’t wait to see their faces in the New Year.

We would like to thank everyone for their very generous gifts and kind words as we have started to wind down for Christmas this week, it hasn’t gone unnoticed. Thank you so much for your continued support so far.

We introduced two new experts this week, in Sand Dunes classroom we learnt all about ‘Clip n Climb’ from Halle, who enjoys showcasing her climbing skills whenever she can. Over in Pinewoods classroom we had our expert Lewis, who was eagerly awaiting to become a big brother. We can’t wait to introduce the children to two new experts in January as we shift our learning over to the story of Moses, vehicles and floating and sinking.

When we return after the holidays we are focusing on ‘New Years Resolutions’, as we continue to learn about our Reception Class Value of Kindness.

We continued to spread Christmas joy throughout the week, on Tuesday we can Christmas Takeover Day, which was absolutely incredible – the children had a jam-packed day full of fun. We made Reindeer food, decorated our own gingerbread trees and created our very own wooden decoration. A huge thank you to FOSLS and your elves for all of your hard work, we had a blast!

On Wednesday we walked to church with our buddies, we watched our very talented Year 1 friends retell the story of The Nativity during their Christmas Service, they spoke with such confidence and sang so beautifully. We are so proud of you.

We would love to share your holiday news when we return, so please continue to send us your good news (no matter how big, or small) we love to share it as a class and it is so pleasing to see your children stand at the front and talk about their news [email protected]

Don’t forget term starts on Tuesday 7th January 2025 8:35am.

Have an amazing Christmas and a very happy New Year, see you in 2025.

The Reception Team xx

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
