As the weather has got colder this week we have started to talk about an animal that lives in the coldest of all climates, Antarctica. The children have been spell bound by the plight of the Emperor Penguin and the lengths it goes to, to rear its young chick.
Our role play area has transformed into the Antarctic and the children have enjoyed spending time in there. We have been busy making out very own penguins too. In maths we have been learning all about the number 7, the children were amazed that there were 7 days in our week and 7 colours in a rainbow!
Look out for ‘red words’ in your child’s reading folder, with a letter to explain what they are. They can also be known as tricky words. We say it is trickier to ‘Fred a red’, as we cannot use our ‘Fred talk’ to decode these words. Thank you for your support in helping your child to learn to read.
