Where to start?

We have just finished our sensational Science Week. We have continued with our vehicles over the course of the week. First completing their construction, including a brake, before completing their external designs. We look forward to adding the final flourishes, next week, and evaluating them. Look out, next week, for more photos of the journey.

With Tallulah Time, we thought about the passage of the seasons and created our own seasons timelines. We also learned all about Eunice Newton Foote who found out that carbon dioxide could cause climate change. Fascinating!

Wednesday, we viewed a live stream from Bates Farm, in Warrington, where we learned more about the life of the farmer. Clearly a very busy one, especially now with all the new additions arriving.

Thursday, our Silly Science visitor came and shared a number of interactive investigations with us.

Today was Comic Relief Red Nose Day 2024. We had fun sharing and listening to lots of fantastic jokes throughout the day. The money raised provides an opportunity to support communities around the world.

We also discussed St Patrick's Day, this coming Sunday, and shared who he was and how the day is celebrated. Next week, we will look closer at Ireland and discuss the physical and human features there.

Next Wednesday morning we look forward to our Spring walk and Pirate Day on Friday. Another fabulous week to look forward to.

Have a lovely weekend.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
