Friday 21st June

In maths, the children have enjoyed using a variety of equipment, such as ‘ten sticks,’ exploring BIG numbers!

On Monday, the children continued their OAA (Outdoor and Adventurous Activities) and had fun with all the challenges!

Science work continued with exploring a variety of leaves from around our school grounds, learning about different trees.

Our PHSE work this week, was ‘Sun Safety’ this and appropriate for the sunshine we have had- at long last!

On Thursday afternoon we started practising relay race team games, in preparation for Sports Day morning on 1st July.

Miss Barnes finishes her teaching practice today, we wish her well in her teaching career and she has promised to visit us, before the end of term.

Have a lovely weekend!

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
