                                                    Friday 7th June

A short but eventful week for us all! We certainly had some fun in the sun, catching up with our friends, buddies and enjoying our PE session outside.

We began our new topic, “Beside the Seaside” and shared the story of The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch. We look forward to our work around it, next week.

In the week to come, the children will bring home a holiday questionnaire for parents, grandparents or family friends to answer. This will then be used in future lessons as we compare and contrast holidays now and in living memory.

As usual, speed sounds and red words, to continue to learn, have been placed in the Reading Records. Any queries regarding the QR codes, please contact the Year One email.

Have a lovely weekend.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
