This week we started exploring the classic poem "The Highwayman," by Alfred Noyes. This poem was written in the 19th century and based in the 1700s. The children have absolutely loved the poem, and considering the complex language, have really understood the story and the inference implied. We watched an animated song on youtube to help our understanding further and lots of children want to rewatch it and share at home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLbfPsdlymg

In maths we have started our new unit on multiplication and division. We therefore ask that this week's homework is TT Rockstar or other app based x table games. It is so important that our child now knows all their tables and can recite them at speed.

In DT we have made a variets of bridges, from card and dried spaghetti. Next week will be making bridges from wood and will be visiting Range on Wednesday to do our sawing in their DT rooms.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
