Y5 blog 10.9.21

Date: 10th Sep 2021 @ 2:13pm

We have had a great week this week learning all about Fairtrade and how it helps farmers in poverty across the globe. Today we wrote and performed playscripts as though we were presenters and frmers to show our learning. Fantastic acting skills Y5. In maths we have beeen reading, writing, comparing and ordering numbers to 1,000,000 and are all growing in confidence with these large numbers. Today was also very exciting as we met our buddies for the first time and enjoyed getting to know them. In class worship we had already looked at our year group value of faithfulness and how we could be a faithful buddy, and the children certainly showed this today. We are now all looking forward to our trip on monday.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
