This week we have continued our sentence stacking in English and have finished our poems, taking inspiration from “The Highwayman” by Alfred Noyes. We will be completing our independent writing next week, taking all that we have learnt to help us.

In maths we have just started our unit on multiplication and division. It is really important that children know their times tables for this unit, which is why TT Rockstars is homework this week. Children know which times tables they should work on.

In computing we have started looking at how search engines work and how different search engines and different webpages can give different results. We searched “How many Maya Gods were there?” and got various answers ranging from 200 – 250.

In art we finished our typography sketch booking and are ready to create our final pieces next week.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
