This week in science we learnt about life cycles of mammals, birds and those animals that metamorphosis - amphibians and insects. Next week we will be comparing and contrasting classifications and life cycles. In maths we learnt about areas of compound shapes and how we can move parts of the shape around to help make calculations easier, especially when the scale is 1 square = 2m. We are so close to finishing our popup books in DT and can’t wait to take them home to share. On Thursday we met our new teachers, our teacher is Mr. Green, we are all very excited. Mr Hardman’s class met Mr Hardman as they have him again next year. They are very excited too.

In guided reading we learnt about the curse of Cogston House, which is about a boy called Jack adventuring into the back end of the park to go and find Cogston House with his friend Luca.

We have completed the smile challenge today, reading the books that we bought to our buddies. The books will now go in a basket for anyone to read at playtime or lunchtime in the story telling garden. Have a look at some of the photographs.

The best thing this week was Sports Day. We went to Range and all had 3 events. Some of us had 4. We had lots of fun.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
