This week we have continued our work on fractions, learning how to work out equivelant fractions to solve problems and compare fractions with different denominators. In writing we had a fantastic experience session, being detectives and villagers from Victorian Glasgow after the Nowhere emporium shop disappeared. In history we acted like real historians, looking at the Anglo Saxon Chronicle, letters from Alcuin to Edward the Confessor, the geography of Lindisfarne, photographs and a modern video to piece together evidence to start to answer our line of enquiry: Vikings - vicious or victorious? Most children thought they were both in their raid of Lindisfarne. We really enjoyed our PE and Games lessons this week, expanding our hockey skills and playing dodgeball as well as our music brass lessons as we prepare for our concert. A letter is being emailed today to you about our upcoming concert.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
