This week we have continued learning about Victorian Times through the eyes of Jim Jarvis. This week we have been focussing on children's jobs, and the terrible conditions they had to endure: climbing chimneys at the age of 5, working in tiny spaces down the mines, risking their lives in the factories to name but a few. I think we are all grateful to be born in the 21st century.

In maths we have been dividing 3 and 4 digit numbers by 1 digit  as well as multiplying 3 digits by 2 digits. Homework this week consolidates what we have done in school.

Today has been all things pudsey, with lots of games, colouring competitions and most importantly, raising lots of money for Children in Need. Well done Year 5.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
