Y6 Blog 7.2.25

Date: 7th Feb 2025 @ 2:41pm

Year 6 have been powering towards the end of another productive term, enhancing their learning with lots of other events going on in and around school: Number Day on Friday, alongside Storytelling Week and Children's Mental Health Week. We also raised some more money on Friday and were supported by Year 6 children and families around school with our book and teddy sale. Thank you to all families who made donations and contributed to sales.

The children have consolidated their understanding of area, perimeter and volume in maths and have started to plan their own atmospheric stories in English. We have continued to analyse Tyger in our guided reading, and made progress with dodgeball in PE and our miniature playground in DT.

Next week is our last week before another break. We want the children to push themselves right up until Friday to achieve everything they can before a well-earned break.

The Year 6 team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
