Welcome back!

Many thanks for your support as the children settle into their new classrooms and routines. We are so proud of them! They have certainly enjoyed sharing their holiday news and exploring their new classroom environment.

This week, we have been very busy, for e.g. recapping our numbers to 10 and 20, thinking about mammals in science and playing balancing games in P.E. Please enjoy seeing the photos of some of our fun learning this week!

Home Learning books will come home today, containing the Homework Grid, for the half term, the CEW (red words) to learn this half term. There will be no maths homework set this week, instead will start from next Friday.

Reading books will be changed each Friday, plus a ‘linked’ book and a chosen story book for you to share.

Home Learning, for each week, can be found by accessing the Home Learning button on the Year 1 class page. It is situated close to the top of the page.

Fruit and vegetables are provided for the children, each morning. You may, however, choose instead to send your child in with a specific fruit or vegetable from home to enjoy.

If there are any queries, please contact Mr. Hatton or Mrs. Page via the Year One email.

Many thanks for your continued support,

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
