Date: 8th Nov 2024 @ 3:52pm

First week of the new half term complete and what a busy week it has been!

This week in History,  Year 1 have enjoyed learning all about about Guy Fawkes, who he was and his signifcance. We looked at the chronology of events and disccused the phrases 'now' and 'beyond living memory.'

In Georgraphy, the children have continued to develop their mapping skills and devised simple maps of their own.

Also, thank you to Rock Kidz who came into school today, the children loved rocking and dancing to the music! Please take a look at some of the photos.

Welcome to Autumn 2 and 'Animal Kingdom.' The half termly overview for this half term has been uploaded to the school website. We are very much looking forward to our trip to Knowsley Safari Park in a couple of weeks. If you require a school packed lunch, please inform your class teacher.

Next week is anti-bullying week. On Thursday 14th November, we will wear our odd socks to raise awareness for anti-bullying. The theme for this year is 'respect.' We will also watch a live lesson delivered by the Anti-Bullying Alliance and will discuss the importane of being a kind friend in school.

The new home learning grid and common exception words (red words) have been placed in your child's bookbag.

Have a lovely weekend.

Many thanks for your continued support.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
