Year 1 Blog 10.9.21

Date: 10th Sep 2021 @ 4:47pm

Friday 10th September

This week, we completed some super science, thinking about our external body parts and naming them. We also thought about the Creation Story, from Genesis, and shared our own favourite parts of creation.

We relished the opportunity to spend time with our Year 5 buddies and learned more about our new friends. Fantastic!

We had fun thinking about the number 19 and explored different ways to use our blocks to represent it. In the week ahead, we will focus on the number 20, during Maths sessions.

We will also think about the different countries, within the UK, locate them on a map and establish what their capitals are.

We look forward to finding out more about our newly acquired sketch books and can’t wait to start them.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend.

If there are any queries, please contact our dedicated email.                                                                        [email protected]

With thanks.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
