Year 1 Blog 12.5.23

Date: 12th May 2023 @ 4:07pm

We continued the observations of our pea plants, this week, and diarised their changes. They are growing from strength to strength and clearly content in their environment. Time was also spent discussing the structure of flowering plants too and we recorded our ideas. Our latest art project is underway and we completed our initial observational drawings of a variety of birds. We look forward to turning our 2D ideas into 3D, in the weeks to come. Next week, we look forward to our local study of wild and garden plants as well as deciduous and evergreen trees, in our area. Lots to look forward to.

Have a lovely weekend and thank you for your support.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
