                                                    Friday 12th July

We are so proud of the children and their enthusiasm during Sports Day! As you know, a key element of LEARN is to ‘never give up’ and they managed this with aplomb.

We continued our wonderful windmills and look forward to bringing them home to share.

We also had another opportunity to spend time in our Year 2 classrooms, with our new teachers. More exciting times!

Lots of fun was had today too. Take a look at our photographs from the day.

Next week, we look forward to the Year 6 show and celebrating their many talents. On Wednesday, we will attend their Leaver’s Service, in church, and finish Thursday at 2.00pm.

Homework, this week, is reading and Speed Sounds. There will be no specific maths homework but you may choose to access doodlemaths. The children are asked to bring their reading folders in for the final time, on Tuesday. Please take any keyrings off in readiness for them being passed up to Year 2. The children will also need their named, empty "bag for life", as requested on Spider, in on Monday.

Thank you for all your support over the year. It is very much appreciated.

Have a lovely weekend.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
