Year 1 Blog 13.12.24

Date: 13th Dec 2024 @ 2:23pm

What an eventful week we have just shared! We have made a start to our DT puppet project and look forward to decorating them in the coming lessons.

Christmas lunch was fabulous and the children enjoyed the opportunity to don something festive. We were also treated to a selection of Christmas songs to get us all into the Christmas spirit!

We continued our Christmas service rehearsals and took time to perform Away in a Manger. A Golden Ticket ensued.

On Monday, we will walk to church again for another Christmas service rehearsal, this time a dress rehearsal.

On Tuesday, we look forward to  ChristmasTake Over Day, a firm favourite from last year, and on Wednesday, we are excited to be participating in the Y1 church service.

1P will be leading the first church service at 09:30. 1H will be leading the second church service at 10:30. We look forward to seeing you all there!

Please can the children bring in a named bag, on Monday, to put their belongings into.

Many thanks for your continued support. One more week until the end of a very busy term!

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
