Year 1 Blog 14.1.22

Date: 14th Jan 2022 @ 4:22pm

Another busy week in Year One!

The children spent time thinking about both 2D shapes and patterns and have created some designs of their own. We have also discussed chronology, during history, and took the opportunity to sequence personal events in a daily timeline.

Next week, we will focus on terrific toys, now, hence the need for toys from home, next week. We look forward to completing obervational drawings of some of them, using the  techniques we have been learning since our return. We will also consider the materials they are made from too.

During this half term we look forward to making our own sock puppets and further information will be provided about it.

Thank you for your support and we hope you have a lovely weekend.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
