Friday 17th November

Just like the title of the song, Children in Need 2023 saw plenty of yellow and spots around school. The children looked wonderful and we celebrated the day enjoying some Pudsey activities.

This week was Anti Bullying Week and on Monday we wore our odd socks to celebrate our uniqueness. We also discussed, and then decided, our own top , “hi five”, attributes of a good friend.

We spent time continuing our work identifying, naming, grouping and describing a variety of animals. Our spirals art work continued and we completed our final designs using our oil pastels. Fab-u-lous!

In the week ahead, we look forward to our trip to Knowsley and seeing some of the animals we have been learning about. Not many sleeps to go! Roll on Thursday!

Have a lovely weekend.

Many thanks for your continued support.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
