                   Friday 17th December

What an eventful week we have just shared! It was wonderful to start the proceedings with the Year 2 Nativity when we were reminded of the true meaning of Christmas. Then, Breakfast with Santa quickly followed by our Christmas lunch. Delicious!

We also completed our carol rehearsals and spent time at a local nursing home sharing our Christmas cheer. We then took time to perform for our buddies too.

Time was spent using our Rekenreks ( a form ofabacus/counting frame) as we further develop our fluency in number facts and number sense.

Next week, we look forward to our Christmas church service and our party on Monday. Please ensure your child is wearing clothes and footwear suitable for an active time both inside and outside.

Please can the children bring in a named bag, on Tuesday, to put their belongings into.

Many thanks for your continued support.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
