Year 1 Blog 17.9.21

Date: 17th Sep 2021 @ 4:16pm

Friday 17th September

This week, we took the opportunity to think about the different countries, within the UK, locate them on a map and establish what their capitals are. We enjoyed learning about the different countries the children had visited. We also began to think about different features of the landscape, using the terms human and physical features. We will continue this, in the week ahead, and investigating maps too.

Tuesday afternoon flew by when we began to explore the qualities of charcoal and mark making. Why not take a look at the photographs, in the gallery, showing the effects the children made.

In the week ahead, we will continue our number work and focus on the number 21, during Maths sessions.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend.

If there are any queries, please contact our dedicated email.                                                                        [email protected]

With thanks.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
