Year 1 Blog 20.09.24

Date: 19th Sep 2024 @ 4:41pm

What a wonderful time we had, this week. We completed some super science, thinking about our body parts and naming them. We also concentrated on our sense of smell and enjoyed a smell quiz. We shared some super ideas and vocabulary before finding out the answers. In the week to come, we will focus on our sense of touch.

In maths this week, we have been working with numbers within 10. Representing them on ten frames and learning how to read and write each numeral in words.

In PE, we continued exploring how we can use our whole body to spin, and balance, in a variety of ways. We look forward to incorporating our ideas into unique sequences. Please take a look at the photos below!

In Art lessons this week, the children enjoyed using different medium when completing several drawing exercises.

During our music lessons, we continued learning more about pulse and thinking voice.

We would love to hear about what your child has been up to, so, please add a comment in the home learning book and return to school on Wednesday of each week. Thank you for your continued support with this. We greatly appreciate it,

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any queries.  [email protected]

We hope you have a wonderful weekend.

With thanks,

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
