Year 1 Blog 2.12.22

Date: 2nd Dec 2022 @ 3:01pm

Friday 2nd December

Wednesday was St Andrew’s Day. We spent time learning more about St Andrew, the physical and human features in Scotland and how the day is celebrated.

We have continued our discussions about animals and have grouped them according to their diets. We will continue to discuss carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.

Our classrooms have begun to twinkle and sparkle as we begin our Christmas preparations. We have been sharing the Christmas Story and thinking about the meaning of Christmas.

We look forward to the Year 2 nativity next Tuesday and the Christmas Concert, in Church, at 6pm on Wednesday.

Have a lovely weekend.

Many thanks for your continued support.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
