Year 1 Blog 24.3.23

Date: 24th Mar 2023 @ 3:33pm

Yo! Ho! Ho! Three more sleeps to go!

The children are so excited about Pirate Day, next Monday. Once the crew have arrived we will set sail for a day of adventures.

This week, we talked about the Liverpool Privateers who, with permission, fought and seized goods and ships on the high seas. We also went on a musical treasure hunt, selecting our instruments to reflect the many sounds by the sea. We have shared and discussed the Easter Story too and look forward to seeing Year 4 leading our service, in church, next Wednesday.

Tuesday, we will be seeing the Year 5 production of Star Warts and will turn our attention to explorers, in living memory. On Friday, we will wear a hat to support brain tumour research. Another busy week ahead.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Thank you for continued support.

The Year 1 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
