Year 1 Blog 25.11.22

Date: 25th Nov 2022 @ 3:27pm

Friday 25th November

What a week! We started it in style, watching England’s first World Cup match. You can imagine the excitement.

Closer to home, we concentrated on positional language, during Maths and caring for pets.

We have also discussed how Year 1 will be singing Christmas carols for the residents of a local nursing home. The children know we will be singing Away in a Manger and we would ask that any opportunity you may have to listen to it would be very beneficial.

Next week, we will learn about St Andrew’s Day, St Andrew and more about the human and physical features of Scotland.

There are lots of coughs and colds about, at the moment, and we always encourage the children to have a tissue at the ready. We would very much appreciate tissue donations and would like to thank you if you have already provided us with a box.

Have a lovely weekend.

Many thanks for your continued support.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
