Another fun and action packed week in Year 1!

In Maths this week, the children have been counting one more and one less of a given number within 10.

In English, we are coming to the end of our narrative story, Ruby's Worry. The children have enjoyed this first text and have written some excellent sentences.

In our indoor PE lessons, we have continued our gymnastics unit. The children have enjoyed demonstrating their gymnastic skills to their peers! Please take a look at some of the photos below.

Next week, Science/DT focus. As part of our science topic we have been learning about the 5 senses. Next week, the children will be learning about the sense of taste. This links to our DT topic whereby the children will be making their very own smoothies. More information will follow regarding this.

Home Learning - A big thank you for the home learning books. We love to see what the chidlren have been getting up to!

Enjoy your weekend. See you on Monday!

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
