Year 1 Blog 29.11.24

Date: 29th Nov 2024 @ 3:23pm

Another busy and very arty week in Year 1!

This week we spent time continuing our work identifying, naming, grouping and describing a variety of animals. We also looked at animal diets including: carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.

In Art this week, Year 1 enjoyed creating their own snail spirals. Please take a look at some of the photos below. The children had a wonderful time completing this activity.

We have placed your child’s lines for the Christmas Service in their reading record or bookbag. Please can you encourage your child to practise their lines with you. The lines can remain at home. We will continue rehearsing our Christmas Service in the coming week.

Next week, we also look forward to a visit from Mr Gordon from Liverpool Cathedral, who will perform Christmas carols alongside our Year 3 children.

Have a lovely weekend.

Many thanks for your continued support.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
