Friday 30th September

This week started with our terrific triathlon. The children had a fabulous time experiencing each sport. Their energy never wavered as they continued their gymnastic sessions, during the afternoon. It was a pleasure to see them trying out their inventive balances and turns.

More time was spent, in the garden, discussing the crops there and where different fruit and vegetables are grown. We talked about the difference between the two and went on to taste test a variety before making our smoothies, next week.

We look forward to attending church, for our harvest celebrations, and our autumn walk too. Super smoothies will also be made, tasted and evaluated.

Next Thursday, there will be the second of two information afternoons. Details are below.

Thursday 6th October – How to support your child with RWI phonics drop in. This session is with Mrs. Fegan at 2.30pm in the Green room.

As mentioned last week, those of you who did not purchase a RWI Set2 and Set3 pack of phonic cards, while in Reception, they are still available to buy via the school Spider. They cost £5.50 and are an updated version of the original pack. They are a wonderful resource to have when supporting the development of your child’s phonic knowledge. It is a resource we use daily in school.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Have a wonderful weekend.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
