Year 1 Blog 4.11.22

Date: 4th Nov 2022 @ 3:29pm

Friday 4th November

Exciting times! The children have been so excited about celebrating Bonfire Night, and for some, attending their first firework displays. Consequently, we have discussed the history behind the origins of this celebration as well as firework and sparkler fire safety. We shared some firework clips and the children recreated the sounds and actions of different fireworks with their buddies. Great fun was had by all.

We also continued our geographical work, creating a simple map of our route from the classroom to the hall. We thought about left and right, on our way there and on our way back too!

As you know, we are really looking forward to our trip to Knowsley Safari Park. Initial information has now been sent out about it. If there are any queries about it, please contact our dedicated email.                                                                        [email protected]

Have a wonderful weekend.

With thanks.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
