Year 1 Blog 4.3.22

Date: 4th Mar 2022 @ 4:28pm

Our week certainly lived up to our expectations! We welcomed Miss Duffy to Year One before our inflatables experience. Energy and enthusiasm was the order of the day as the children completed their circuits and powered across the inflatable assault course. Amazing! Tuesday we celebrated St. David's Day and learned more about the physical and human features in Wales. Thursday was World Book Day and the children loved completing their book reviews and sharing their opinions with their classmates. The Milk and Cookies evening was made extra special with a visit from Mrs Down. She brought her very own Hairy Maclary to visit us (Stanley) and the children loved meeting him. We have also enjoyed some marvellous place value Maths and continued creating our Pirate Dances. What a week!

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
