Year 1 Blog 5.11.21

Date: 5th Nov 2021 @ 4:34pm

Friday 5th November

This week, we commenced our Claws, Paws and Whiskers topic. We became more familiar with the Owl Babies story, by Martin Waddell, and will to return to the story throughout the topic.

We had fabulous fun, during our dance session, thinking about how animals move and developing the start of our own dance motif. We look forward to continuing it next week.

This week, we learned more about Guy Fawkes and firework safety. We thought about how we should behave around fireworks and sparklers before creating cautionary posters of our own.

Next week, we look forward to thinking more about animals and how they are grouped.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend.

With thanks.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
