Year 1 Blog 5.5.23

Date: 5th May 2023 @ 5:19pm

What a wonderful week! The children have loved viewing the progress of their peas and writing their observations in their Pea Diaries. They loved learning more about the imminent Coronation and put their knowledge to good use when completing their latest orienteering activity. They built on their skills from last week and used their maps to great effect. We are very proud of the children from Year 1 and Year 5 as they collaborated brilliantly throughout.  We rounded our week off with music, thinking about timbre, and how we can use our voices, expressively, to represent different characters within a story. We had some fearsome wolves and petrified pigs in our midst! In the week ahead, we look forward to our next art project and commencing our observational drawings.

Have a wonderful, memorable weekend.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
