Friday 6th January

Happy New Year! We would like to thank you, once again, for your generosity and best wishes at Christmas. The children have loved sharing their news and telling us all about the wonderful times they have had.

This half-term our topic is all about toys, both old and new. We look forward to exploring our new topic in the weeks to come. During music, we discussed pitch and spent time exploring high and low notes with the glockenspiels.

As previously mentioned, our PE days are now Monday and Thursday. Monday is our indoor session and the children are welcome to wear their shorts, under their tracksuit bottoms for this session.

We have placed the Common Exception Words, for this half-term, within the Homework book as well as the new Homework Grid.

Have a lovely weekend.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
