Friday 7th October
What another wonderful week we have had! Harvest and food have been at the centre of it all. Tuesday, we attended the Harvest church service delivered by our Year 3 friends and siblings. Fabulous!
Super smoothies came next. The children pulled together, in their teams, to prepare, taste and evaluate all they had made. Delicious!
We continued our spiral art work and used oil pastels to great effect. Take a look at the examples included in our photographs.
In the week ahead, we will think more about the physical and human features of the landscape and identify it within our own locality.
As mentioned last previously, those of you who did not purchase a RWI Set2 and Set3 pack of phonic cards, while in Reception, they are still available to buy via the school Spider. They cost £5.50 and are an updated version of the original pack. They are a wonderful resource to have when supporting the development of your child’s phonic knowledge. It is a resource we use daily in school.
Have a wonderful weekend.

With thanks.
The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
