Year 1 Weekly Blog (4. 12. 20)

Date: 3rd Dec 2020 @ 11:07am

Friday 4th December

It was a pleasure to hear the children sharing their fascinating facts about St Andrew, this week. How wonderful it was to see so many of them recorded in Home Learning books. We also discussed the physical and human features of Scotland and are still wondering if the Loch Ness monster truly exists!

We have continued to learn the words to our Christmas songs, this week. The children were introduced to the Christmas Alphabet song, a firm favourite with our audiences.

We were so delighted to receive a beautiful book each, from church today, and appreciate their generosity. Just like the title, we thought we would wait and take the opportunity to share it at home.

In the coming week, we look forward to completing our Owl Babies activities and the much anticipated Santa Dash on Friday. HO! HO! HO!

Have a lovely weekend.

Many thanks for your continued support.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
