Year 1 Weekly Blog (6. 11. 20)

Date: 4th Nov 2020 @ 1:06pm

Friday 6th November

This week we learned more about Guy Fawkes and firework safety. We thought about how we should behave around fireworks and sparklers before created cautionary posters of our own. Take a look at our Sparkler Safety session and striking poster and story map.

This half term is all about Claws, Paws and Whiskers and we will be finding out even more about different animals and their structures.

Children in Need returns on Friday 13th November. We look forward to seeing a sea of yellow and scores of stunning spots!

As you know, our ZOOM Parent Teacher meetings commence next week. Do let us know if you would prefer a phone conversation and we will be in touch to make the necessary arrangements.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Have a wonderful weekend.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
