What a lovely Autumnal week we have had in year 2.

In English this week, we have continued with our guided write of 'A Lion in Paris', we spent a lot of time looking at famous landmarks, such as the Paris Metro, The Eiffel Tower, The Sacre-coeur and The Lourve. The children have been super curious about these places, asking great questions and broadening their vocabulary.

In Maths we have started learning how to add using column method. Please see the home learning tab for more information on this and how to support your child with this key learning aspect.

During History we have been looking at older houses, thinking about what our grandparents houses are like, did they have computers or microwaves when they were little. We also looked back at victorian houses and compared them to our houses today. We thought about all the old and new household items that weren't around back then, that are new now.

In Art we collect Autumn leaves for the children to begin sketching. Next week we will be getting creative adding metalic crayons!

Whilst looking into the Shabbat in RE this week, the children thought about their special time with their family and what they value most about that family time. It was lovely to hear about everyones movie nights, sunday roasts, baking and games nights!

We hope you all have a lovely weekend!

The Year 2 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
