Year 2 Weekly Blog (10. 6. 22)

Date: 9th Jun 2022 @ 12:11pm

We hope you all had a great half-term break, and we are all looking forward to the fun things we have planned for the final few weeks in school before the summer break.  We can't believe how fast this year has gone!  We have a couple of very exciting trips lined up: Martin Mere and the Philharmonic Hall; and as well as those exciting trips out of school, we may also be hosting  some very special fluffy visitors in the coming weeks...!

This week, the children have started to think about their new topic: 'Walk on the Wild Side'.  On Wednesday afternoon, the children went on a bug hunt: exploring different areas of our school, looking for different types of life; the children had a particularly great time looking around the school garden, finding a vast array of minibeasts!

In Maths, the children have been completing lots of review style questions, using all the different skills they have learned throughout the year - we have been very impressed with how well they have managed to complete these exercises, and it is had been a great way for us all to see just how much they have learned this year.

On Friday, it was lovely to see all of the children dressed up to celebrate the Jubilee; the children all enjoyed their lunchtime picnic on the field with all their friends - a great way to end our first week back in school!

We hope you all have a great weekend, and look forward to seeing you next Monday!

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
