Year 2 Weekly Blog (10.3.23)
Date: 10th Mar 2023 @ 2:18pm
What a fantastic week we have had in Year 2, with a very magical ending!!
During Science the children loved having their scientist hats on this week and were busy investigating different materials and whether they could bend, squash and stretch them.
In music, the children continued listening to space themed music and created a soundscape to two pieces of music, using shapes and patterns to represent the dynamics, instruments and mood of the music. We looked back at the one we did last week and compared the two very different pieces of music.
We continued looking at signs and symbols of Easter in RE and the children identified why the cross is so important.
In Maths we have started looking at 2D shape and symmetry. The children have been identifying sides and verticies of quadrilaterals and polygons. They have also been folding different shapes to check for lines of symmetry.
We ended the week making snowmen on the field which we all thought was a brilliant morning!
Enjoy your weekend,
The Year Two Team
