Year 2 Weekly Blog (11. 12. 20)

Date: 8th Dec 2020 @ 11:57am

On Monday morning, the children all dressed up in their Nativity costumes for the final time to share their dance routines with the rest of the year group on the stage.  It was the first time the children have seen each dance routine and they thoroughly enjoyed watching each other perform on the stage in their costumes.  Throughout the week, Mr Edger has been filming the last couple of scenes for the entire Nativity film; it will be ready for the final week of term (next week).  Once it is ready to be shared with everyone at home, we will send a message explaining how you can watch it.

A couple of months ago, the Year 2 children all completed a star jump challenge, and this week, on Tuesday afternoon, the children were again challenged by Mr Williams to complete the 'Spotty Dogs' challenge; this was another very challenging exercise that required a fair bit hand-eye coordination.  The children had to see how many 'Spotty Dogs' they could complete in 20 seconds and were all worn out by the time they had completed the challenge!

On Friday, the whole school took part in another 1-mile running challenge - this time it was a 'Santa Dash' and all children were invited to 'level up' their P.E. kits with some 'Christmas Bling' -  everyone had a good giggle as the classes came into school, seeing all the different things that people had brought in to decorate their P.E. kit for the dash.  We hope you enjoy looking at all the photographs!

Remember that it is breakfast with Santa on Tuesday, as well as our Christmas party - no party plates!

We also have Christmas jumper day MUFTI on Thursday - so wear something festive and bring in a £1 donation for FOSLS, please!

Also remember that we finish for the Christmas break next Friday at 1.40pm.

We hope you all have a restful weekend and we look forward to seeing you next week for the final one before the Christmas break!

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
