Year 2 Weekly Blog (13. 11. 20)

Date: 12th Nov 2020 @ 2:26pm

This week we have been thinking about the festival of light, 'Diwali'.  The children have coloured in intriciate Rangoli patterns using crayons, and also used the Chrome books to create their own.  They also created hand-print elephants and decorated them with googly eyes, stick-on gems!  Both classes have also made a start on creating their milk-bottle elephants - using PVA and small squares of colourful paper.

The children have also begun to rehearse the Nativity story in small groups.  Mrs Morris came in on Wednesday afternoon to help with the angels with their dance.  The group of angels all worked very hard to learn the dance routine and Mrs Morris was amazed with the children!

On Friday, the children with significant speaking roles should hopefully have brought home a plastic wallet with their lines to learn inside their book bag.  Please try to remember to make sure your child gets in the routine of bringing this plastic wallet into school each day.  Please note that not every child in the year group will have brought home a plastic wallet.

Please also remember to make sure your child brings their book bag every day.

Enoy the weekend!

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
