Year 2 Weekly Blog 17.3.23

Date: 17th Mar 2023 @ 2:28pm

We've had a lovely time in year 2 and have loved seeing all the bright red clothing today!

In Maths we have continued looking at 2D shape and how shapes can move and turn - please see the home learning tab for more on this.

In Music we have been looking at motifs and getting the children to identify the motiff in different pieces of music such as James Bond theme tune and ghostbusters. We then had a go at making our own motifs using glockenspiels.

We have been learning how temperature is measured in space during computing and how to record the data on an excel spreadsheet.

We've also been on the look out for signs of Spring in RE and connecting how spring relates to Easter. The children sketched some lovely drawings of daffodils and blossom trees.

Thank you to everyone who came to the face to face parents evening, we look forward to seeing the rest of you next week.

Have a great weekend.

The Year 2 team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
