Year 2 Weekly Blog (18. 3. 22)

It certainly feels like Spring has arrived this week: not only are the days getting warmer and brighter, but we are also fast approaching the end of term and looking forward to a very busy and exciting few weeks ahead - Superhero Day, the Year 5 play and the Easter service! During class worship on Thursday, as well as thinking about Lent and the 'art of being patient', they shared signs of Spring which they have noticed over the past couple of weeks.
This week in PHSE, the children thought about what they want to be when they're older and we were very interested to hear all the different things they would like to be when they're older: teachers, animators, illustrators, footballers and gymnasts!
In Maths, the children have been reviewing their work on shape: practising turning shapes, moving shapes and redrawing them on grids. The children have also been learning about clockwise and anti-clockwise turns.
On Friday, all dressed up in Red MUFTI for Comic Relief, the children also took part in a 'Maths scavenger hunt' to celebrate the recent World Maths Day.
Have a nice weekend!
