Year 2 Weekly Blog (30. 4. 21)

Date: 30th Apr 2021 @ 8:32am

We have had another fun-filled, busy week in Year 2.

The children have been learning about the different continents and oceans in geography.  They have also looked carefully at a map of the United Kingdom and marked where the capital cities are - we think they have just about managed to remember them all after a few weeks of practise!

In Maths, the children have moved away from learning about fractions, and have really enjoyed learning all about their new topic all about money!  They have had lots of practise using pretend money to make different amounts and had lots of opportunity to play games involving money.  We have marked several

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
