Year 2 Weekly Blog (30.9.22)

Date: 29th Sep 2022 @ 8:29pm

We've had a lovely week in year 2, both classes have been super busy.

We started our week with an exciting Triathalon, the children had three activities to complete; swimming, cycling and running. They all did great!

In Maths this week we have extended our knowledge of column method and have been looking at regrouping. You will see we have sent homework sheets reflecting this and more information is available on the home learning tab. We have also uploaded a tutorial for parents on how to help your child with column method. We hope this helps!

In Art this week we were able to get outside and hunt for items around school that we could use to create artwork with. The children really enjoyed exploring our school areas and getting creative with their findings. We've uploaded some lovely pictures of the groups finished creations.

The children got to play around with Lego algorithms this week in computing also!

We hope you all have a lovely weekend!

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
