Year 2 Weekly Blog

Date: 24th May 2024 @ 1:51pm

Wow, this term has really flown by! We're really sad to come to the end of our topic 'The Great Fire of London & The Plague'. We have had a brilliant term being historians, writers, dancers and explorers!

We've had a lovely week, finishing all our independent write and topic activities. In Maths we have focused on volume, learning to read and measure in litres and millilitres and understanding the difference between volume and capacity.

We finished off our Great Fire of London dance, which the children have added to each week, working on different movements from symmetry to travelling.

We finished our week off celebrating the end of term with our buddies, sharing the board games we brought in.

Next term we will be starting our 'Walk on the Wildside' topic and have some very exciting activities coming up! We have the living eggs to look forward to, our trip to Martin Mere, creating habitat boxes and designing and eating our own healthy wraps!

We hope you have a wonderful half term, thank you for the continued support this year.

Take care, The Year 2 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
