Year 2 Weekly Blogs (31.3.23)

Date: 31st Mar 2023 @ 10:26pm

Wow, this year is absolutely flying by!

We have been really busy this week, so we've sent home some very tired superheroes!

In Maths we have been learning to tell the time, focusing on quarter past and quarter to. Any practice over the holidays would be really beneficial as it's a very tricky skill to learn.

In RE we concluded this terms focus of Easter symbols, we celebrated with hot cross buns, easter eggs and blackcurrant juice to represent the cross, new life and the wine Jesus drank at the last supper.

We have also created Easter cards this week which have been sent home today.

Thursday brought us Superhero day which we all loved! The children all looked amazing in their costumes, what an effort they all went to! During this day we created our moving monsters for DT, which look incredible.

We hope you all have a brilliant Easter and we look forward to welcoming the children back in April.

The Year 2 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
